Black Soldier Fly Larvae for Chickens

Hatortempt's dried black soldier fly larvae for chickens will have a mild, nutty scent. This is how chicken worms are supposed to smell. If you purchase from another brand and your worms for chickens have an "off" smell, this could be a sign they weren't properly dried and may have spoiled from excess moisture. All Hatortempt chicken grubs are washed and dried twice, for clean, crisp and delicious smelling treats you flock will go crazy for.

Our bsf larvae for chickens are crispy and nutrient dense treats that will have them flocking as soon as you open the bag. To build trust and encourage affection, we recommend hand-feeding our chicken treats for laying hens and then gradually building up to petting as you notice them getting more comfortable. Even the pickiest chicken won't be able to resist our grubs for chickens.

How much will one bag last?

Dried black soldier fly larvae should make up around 10% of your chickens daily diet. Which for 6 chickens is around 1/2 to 1 cup per day. Depending on the size of your flock, our 5 and 10lb bags could give you months worth of nutritious treats.

Are they fresh and whole?

Yes! All of our BSFL are dried twice giving them a moisture level of 5%, perfect for maintaining freshness without crumbling. After drying, every batch is hand inspected, ensuring only whole, plump, golden larvae make it to your chickens.

How should I store them?

Our BSFL last 2 years (see bag for exact expiration date). It arrives in a resealable bag for lasting freshness without extra containers. To store, seal the bag tightly and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
